I put that because he already has DDR2 800 ram in his current system he upgraded.

I'm not saying get rid of it, I'm saying it's best to have 4GB with the resource hoggin applications, and games. While you could get away with 2GB, you may see a performance hit, if playing really demanding games, or using memory intensive applications.

so if i buy an extra 2 gig of the same ballistix DDR2 i have it wont be a waste?

I can use my old disk drives and HDD the only question i guess is the memory.

Unless youre running 64 bit os, I don't think you'll see the extra 2gig.
