I have a MSI x58 Pro with a I7 920 and i was wondering what the proper setting to OC it to 3.2 or so would be. If you need more information please just let me know. Right now everything is running at default right out of the box.

for 3.2 no real need for anything fancy. Just move the bclk to 160 for 3.2. No voltage changes needed.

You may want to tweak your ram a bit depending upon what you have.

If you have speedstep enabled under load it will go to 160x21 for 3.36
You can set the multi at x20 and turn off speedstep if you just want 3.2 all the time.

So just adjust the base clock to 160 for 3.2, and i dont think ive ever seen Speedstep in my bios anywhere. Ill give it a try when i get home in a bit.

Thank you

yea, the multipler drops to x12.0 and then back to x20.0 every now and then. So im assuming speedstep is on in the bios. Thanks for the tip.

CPU-Z posts my core speed hoovering between 3200~ - 3300~. Can the 920 go to a higher speed safely? Or should i keep it at 3.2 - 3.3 ? And according to CPU-Z i have revision D0. also currently running folding at home and doing nothing else im sitting at 45C.
