upgraded from a 9800GT 512 to a GTS 250 512

I recently upgraded from a 9800GT 512 to a GTS 250 512 and now the 8500 i was using for phsX is no longer in use.. why wont the GTS 250 use the 8500 as physX like the 9800 did?

Can you screenshot your PhysX settings in Forceware?

you mean the Nvidia control panel?

every time i select enable and then apply it automatically goes back to disable.

Oh... Because the 8500 isn't probably installed properly...... I had an issue like that and had to go through winupdates to get it up.

FYI...you may get better performance by just using the GTS 250 alone.

you should have gotten a 2nd 9800 for sli, the performance increase would have been much better and would have costed you about the samw or less.

It was an upgrade via me building someone a PC and putting my 2 month old 9800gt in their's and using the GPU money to buy the gts250 for myself which doesnt seem much better than the set up from before.

I installed the drivers right after the install and had removed all the drivers from before, but i ijnstalled the 8 series driver first then i installed the GTS series drivers.

maybe a fresh OS install will fix this issue

well the 9800 and the gts250 are both g92's, your not going to see much improvements there.
you basicly bought a 3rd generation of the 8800gts 512 (9800 was 2nd gen of the 8800gts)

amd x2 6000 ---> x3 720 is a pretty good jump.

but if you really wanted to see improvements in gaming, a gtx 260 or equivalent (or better) would have been a better choice in the gpu market.
