Ok, I have $2500 to spend on a desktop PC. What would you build? This price excludes the monitor. I have another $1000 to spend on a monitor (suggestions welcome).

I do lots of gaming.
I do lots of web development and graphic design (illustrator, photoshop, indesign, dreamweaver). This is more important than the gaming.

I already have speakers. I already have a mouse and keyboard. I need everything else.

I don't know much about building my own and I don't plan on learning and doing it myself. I just want to know what to get a quote on to be built for me. Or if you already have a computer you would like to sell, and thing it will suit my needs, please feel free to post specs.

Ok guys, go crazy. Tell me what to get.

Hmmmmm....well, you will definatly want an AMD 64-bit CPU, probably want to get an Abit mobo, an nVidia 6800 video card, the Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro, a Thermaltake PSU (at least 450W), A DVD-RW drive, a sweet looking case, 1GB of RAM from Corsair, Crucial, or Kingston. That outta do it.

I've not used most of this stuff, so I don't know exactly which ones to get, like the CPU, Mobo, DVD-RW drive, and the video card. Someone else can give you a far more in-depth list on what to get.

Well then I can't say I'm too excited to help someone blow $2500 just like that when most of us never have a chance to see that kind of money when we sit here and plan out what we'll buy next and wait a month to get it. Just go to www.alienware.com if you just want to blow money on a pre-built machine and leave forums to people who need help with their cheap ass home built computers.

I am not here to blow money. If i wanted to blow money I would go to alienware or falcon. But that is not the case. I have just sold my apple powerbook and i am in need of a high end desktop for the type of work that i do.

I don't see what the big deal. I'm just asking for a little help to make a really smart purchase.

Don't listen to him, he's crazy.
lol you wish lazerman. I know I've helped you in your time of need plenty of times ;)

Anyway, It's the simple fact that you blatently state 'I dont want to learn and dont plan on it' so if you don't want to learn about what you're spending your money on then it's not worth the time explaining to you what you need and doing the shopping for you

www.zipzoomfly.com
www.newegg.com
www.svc.com

All those will help you in your quest to rid yourself of $2500 on an awesome home built machine that will be built in someone elses home that you'll have no idea that works. Have whoever is going to put it together for you do the shopping and suggestions. I'm sorry I just coulda sworn that these forums were for helping people with actual questions not just 'heres money....build me a computer'

Ok, heres the deal. I don't care HOW it works. I just care how well it works. I have deadlines. My job requires lots of computer intensive task from photo manipulation to lots of multitasking with web applications.

I don't care to learn why to plug this here or there or to put this over here instead of there. Not only do I not have time for that, I'd rather not give myself a bigger headache. Thats not my concern. My concern is getting the best bang for my buck. I want a screaming machine that will make my life easier. Now if you don't want to really help me, I would rather you stop crapping my thread. Thanks.
