Ello.
So I wanted to buy a new PC but alot of friends said that it's cheaper if I build my own. So I started reading some guides here about upgrading, and started looking for parts. Actually my screen is also old and I want to buy a new one.
The screen, I found a 24" wide with 2ms response time and 50000:1 contrast for 318 USD.
Also, for a long time I've wanted the GTX260. I found one (216 pipes) for 233 USD.
I'm struggling with the rest :/ I know nothing about motherboards, and just a little about CPUs. My budget is around 6000SEK (800 USD), but probably more if I can... in english umm... pay it in pieces (like 100bucks a month).
I have some questions:
1. The graphic card that I mentioned above requires 600Watts. However, I found one that required 550watts and one that required 500. Are there any differences between them?
2. Does CPU really matter in gaming? All I hear is graphic card, graphic card and graphic card.
3. As I said in numer one, there is a 500w 260 GTX. Should I get that one to buy a cheaper power supply instead?
My purposes: Gaming mostly. Probably CoD Modern Warfare 2 - I'd love to play it at high settings and the resolution of my new screen. I don't really care about the looks, so the case can be ugly as ****. I don't care about the sound either, just some integrated **** will do it.
So, which Motherboard and CPU do you guys prefer? I live in Sweden so Newegg can't ship items to me really. But there are other good sites: Net2World, NetOnNet, Inet, Butik.
Thanks.
Edit: I just saw a review about the GTX 260 216 on YouTube, and it seems like the EVGA GTX 260 superclocked is better. Is it worth $50 more than the 216?
