Hi all,

I am still a novice at building PCs and I think I made a major mistake. I bought a barebone PC and had to buy a CPU to go with the PC's mobo. I saw it covered " Quad Core Phenom" processors so I bought a Phenom II (See the problem?)

Now I need to know if my Phenom II will work with my Mobo. Here is the processor, the rig, and what I am 95% sure is the mobo of the rig.

Phenom IIx4 processor
NC81-LF motherboard
Barebone Jetway PC).

I appreciate the speedy reply and the nifty program, but I can't run that without the processor in the unit.

This isn't an upgrade, it's a blind buy. The computer is not yet operational and my other machine is a laptop...

Well if that is your mb it will not support the PII x4 940 due to wattage requirements. The highest wattage it looks to support is 89w.

It will support the low tdp pII (705e) or older athlon x2's.

Thank you for your expertise Hefemeister. You are a gentleman and saint, worthy of emulation.

Looks like I've got a processor to sell as New Egg does not accept returns on stuff like this. Case closed I guess, thanks again Hefemeister.
