Having trouble starting my computer.

Previously I had an error where the system would either not recognise the video card and would display the wrong resolution with an error in the system hardware menu or would recognise the video card but fail after a random length of time.
I thought the error was in the video card but installing a new card didnt seem to fix the issue.

Recently I have been unable to turn my comp on at all.
It just goes to the splash screen for the mother board (lanparty splash) and sits there. The fans start up but the bios never loads or at least never shows as loading.

any thoughts? Could the mother board be fried?

If it doesn't go to POST (all the white text after the splash page) then sounds like either a RAM problem, or the motherboard as you said. Can you try each of your sticks of RAM on their own and see if it will POST. If it doesn't work with any sticks then the most likely culprit is the motherboard.
