Can't connect with modem

I use wireless at home, and I've never had a problem connecting to the internet with it. Here though, only dial up is available so I use that. I've always connected without a hitch mostly, but now, I can't. I was suddenly kicked offline one day and haven't been able to connect since then. I can still connect via wireless when there's a wireless access point around just fine, but I cannot connect here... I can't figure out why... There was a storm going on when I was kicked off, so perhaps it fried something?

These forums have really slowed down, you used to get help pretty quickly in the past.

I am pretty sure you answered your own question with the electrical storm.

try uninstalling and reinstalling your drivers for the modem.

You may need to pick up a pcmia modem card if you need dial up access.

To the OP: Yup, have a lil' ol' slice of humble pie, mate. Be a bit more gracious for any help you get, as these are all hobbyists and volunteers, not professionals that you are paying.
