dude, just cancel it. It's not going to undo the 21.5 percent it's done. Just download defraggler and try it out.

The theory behind "it's bad to shut down your laptop" is that when you turn it back on again the resulting surge of current will wear your components down faster. It's true to some extent, but again as far as it affects you it may as well not be true.

haha yeah i did cancel it. the defraggler took a while, but actually finished! i was using tuneup utlities before...takes forever ugh

Defraggler is way better... It cleared up like a third of the used space on my HDD

I would remove your battery if you plan on keeping it plugged in for an extended period of time.
