Dilemma

I have a dilemma cause I have to choose between either the X3 710 or the X2 550 BE. One is a triple core and has a better chance of unlocking the fourth core unlike the X2 550 BE. But my biggest concern is that I haven't seen many decent over clocks achieved on the X3 710 online yet.

With the X2 550 BE I m like ALMOST GUARENTEED a great over clock while the chances of unlocking the 4 cores are really slim.

I just don't want to purchase the X3 710 and get a crappy overclocker.

Please help me make up my mind.

Actually, from what I've seen, the 550 has a good chance of being unlocked. Check it out here:

Looks like the worst batch is 0920GPMW, mostly fails. The rest seem to have a decent success rate. I would get that, and even if you can't unlock it, much better overclocking.

So I ended up getting the X2 250 and next pay check I m ordering the X3 720. Since I needed an extra chip for my brothers pc anyways.

Will be nice getting to play with the X2 250 first.
