This is for all of you bored people out there. I am planning on building a new computer around thanksgiving time and I assume the prices will be pretty similar to how they are now. Im looking to spend around $450-500 not counting moniter, mouse, keyboard or speakers. I wont be doing much gaming so having awesome graphics isnt a concern of mine. So if anyone wants to shop around and see what they can put together for around $500 that would be great. Thanks!

Uhh okay do you mean you want someone to build it for you or do you want us to pick out something nice.

Do you have any parts? A Monitor perhaps.

Cuz damn I'll build you a nice system for 400 and take the 100 as payment. As long as I don't have to upgrade your Dell PC (EVIL).

Alright I guess i kind of worded some things wrong. Basically right now im feeling to lazy to do all of the research and check the reviews to pick out the parts I want. So if you would SUGGEST some parts for the system. I didnt mean actually build one. Im doing that myself:)

Alright man, 500 bucks is pretty tight, but here we go...

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2600+...$91
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80173-1

RAM: 512 MB Kingston DDR PC3200...$83
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80098-2

Motherboard: Biostar M7NCD Pro nForce2 chipset...$68
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=246406

Hard Drive: Western Digital 80 GB...$60
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=101318

Video Card: PNY GeForce FX 5200 128 MB...$50
http://shop1.outpost.com/product/3626555

Case: Antec w/ 350watt psu...$62
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=140018

Optical Drive: DVD 16x + CD-RW 52x24x52 Combo Drive...$45
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=172453

That comes to a grand total of...$459 plus a little shipping. I don't think that is a bad price at all. Granted, with that video card you won't be able to do much more gaming than the Sims, but if you want something else you'll have to pay a big more. Is that like what you had in mind?

wow zipzoomfly has some nice prices. Are they reliable? I use tigerdirect.

Okay first off, don't get the cpu or mobo pizzathehut selected for you. This combo is overclockable to 3200 speeds (2.2ghz) with air cooling-

AMD Athlon XP Mobile 2400- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-103-439&depa=1

Abit NF7-S2G (says NF7-S2, but upgrades to NF7-S2G)- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=240143

Abit is known for their stable motherboards. And if you are worried about overclocking with this combo, don't be. Lot's of people have done it and have been stable at 2.2 ghz. This hsf and hs is what I recommend you use to cool your cpu- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-106-037&depa=0

That will keep everything nice and cool. All this is for about the same price as what pizza mentioned.

"wow zipzoomfly has some nice prices. Are they reliable? I use tigerdirect."

I HATE tigerdirect. *hisssssss*... I cannot stand their prices! I like www.newegg.com and www.zipzoomfly.com better by 100%.

lazerman, why would he need an AMD Athlon XP Mobile? Aren't those used for laptops?
