I thought he was from Wisconsin?? Before he posted I checked out IP's because I felt like Pre-emptive spam ban a looooooooooong time ago :)

But NY is also forcing taxes on Newegg too

EDIT: I'm confusing him with another person... I wasn't even a mod then... but he is from Wisconsin

My IP lookup said Tennessee.... I guess we will wait to see when he gets back.

yes im from TN. I look up what that list with the combo and that doesn't seem to bad of a deal. I never took account their specials like that. The problem with the monitor is the resolution cause a few games won't support it that's why I went with the higher one though anything above that really isn't much of a difference.

Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Many people are reportedly able to unlock all 4 cores on this processor. If the correct motherboard+that would be cheaper than your other choices, might be worth a look. CPU alone is only $100 before tax, maybe can find the right AM3 for a nice price?

EDIT: From the reviews:

"From my understanding, there are two types of heat sinks shipped with this processor. One with heat pipes and those are X4s repackaged as X2s. They can always be unlocked to 4 cores and run stable. The ones without heat pipes are intended to be X2s because of manufacturing fault and is a hit or miss for unlocking and even if they are unlocked, they are probably unstable."

So it's really just a chance, it seems. But seeing as you were looking at dual cores anyway, thats about as good as they get.

if a game can't support 16x10 than how could it handle anything above it?

It would save him 50 bucks...but so would getting a 7750 BE. And either way, 50 bucks for a better mobo and a quad core is pretty well worth it.

Ok, I found a setup thats good i think and within my budget. The only problem is the graphics card.

I like the case I think the video will fit, il remove the one it comes with and just sell it on ebay or somthin. I've tried the specials but they run well over 800 bucks..... What you guys think??

yours was $796.78 including rebate taxes and shipping.

it seems $800 is the sweet spot. I prob will go with your suggested list then. thx for your help!

Definitely go with Hikari's build... it owns for its price

Your CPU was the weakest point in the build, with its TLB bug and lack of OC'ing ability. Also, you have a rather weak PSU there.
