Cannot connect to the internet

Anywho this is what i'm getting when i try to renew and release.

It still cannot connect to your dhcp server.

what type of modem and router do you have?

Have you tried a different cable?
have you tried a different port on your router?

Also, you're using Vista. You'll need to open the command prompt with Admin Privileges. Do that by browsing to the actual cmd.exe file, right-clicking and select 'run as admin' (or something like that, it's been a while since I used vista )
