Help lowering my ping!!

The "Ping" it the time it takes for a packet of data to go from your PC to the server and come back. It is measured in milliseconds.

So a ping of 200 means that there is a 200 millisecond delay from the time you press your mouse button and actually shoot someone. A ping of 80 you hardly notice.

If you do play with 200+ ping (dial-up) you have to aim about 1 centimeter ahead of the player to shoot him. You have to predict where he is going.

When I was on 1Mbit broadband, my ping averaged around 20, now that I'm back on dial-up, i never get anything below 250. I guess dial-up isn't enough for online gaming anymore....

Why the hell you back on Dial Up?

There are many different factors that have an impact on your ping - Such as the service provider, and current hardware configuration.
