Computer Specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz
4gb OCZ Reaper RAM
ATI Radeon 4850 Video Card
Onboard Sound
ASUS P5Q Motherboard
1.5tb HDD Space
Description of Problem: I own a headset with a boom mic attatched. It worked fine for a month or two, then one day the mic just stopped working. I fiddled with the hardware settings (enabling/disabling the microphone etc), to no avail. On the "Recording Devices" window, it shows "Microphone" as "Plugged in and working." but any peice of software that measures sound coming from my microphone cant get even a whisper. I've tried un-plugging and re-inserting the cord (which splits into two, one for audio and one for the mic), to no avail.
I can answer any questions you guys have, and if anyone knows what to do it would be greatly appreciated.
