Hi,
I've got a box with the following specs that I'm going to be using as an IPCop-based router/firewall. I'd like to underclock it a bit to save on heat and power (thus reducing noise). The specs are the following:
Intel Pentium 4 @ 1.3ghz
128mb RDRAM
Gigabyte GA-8TX motherboard
I've looked in the BIOS, and there's no option to mess with the clock speed or multiplier. However, there is thing called a "CPU Frequency Ratio". It's current set at 8:1. Is that what I need to adjust to underclock? (I'm not overly familiar with stuff this old, being 17 and all, I was 10 when we bought this box, lol).
