When i play games on my computer after a few minutes frame rates crash land. If i minimise the game, then maybe load up internet explorer and have a little browse, i can return to the game a couple minutes later and then it'll be fine. It likes to have a break every few minutes...

Windows xp sp 3
athlon X2 6000+
4 gig ram
Radeon 460 1gig

Overheating? is there a way to check temps without consulting bios? Computer doesn't feel too hot.

That is a bit hot no doubt. what are you loading it with? I see it is at 95% load.

What kind of overclocking have you tried because I beleive stock vcore on that cpu is 1.35 and you are running it at 1.475.

Set bios to default settings.

It is not scorching hot but it is hotter than I would like to see.

i don't have many applications installed i like to run bare min. just one game like GTA iv or BIA ****'s Highway will over heat it. I am a leisured computer user and haven't touched any bios settings so it shouldn't be in anyway overclocked!

check to make sure you cpu heatsink fan is clear of dust.
You may want to get a can of compressed air and clean out the entire case.
Try to zip tie up wires to promote good airflow.
remount heatsink using tx-2 thermal paste.

I unclipped the cpu and heatsink and cleaned out all the dust using cotton buds (q-tips,) a vacuum cleaner and by blowing.

CPU temp has dropped and no overheating in last two days!
