How can you determine if an Intel Core 2 Duo is High End or Low End? What are High end and Low end models of Intel Core 2 Duo?

Broadly speaking the E1xxx and E2xxx series are low end, the E5xxx and E6xxx series are mid level and the E8xxx and E9xxx series are more high end. But like hikari said it depends on your definition.

I mean what is the highest class of Intel Core 2 Duo? I plan to buy a new CPU and have the most powerful type of Core 2 Duo.

The 9775 is a quad-core. The Q in any name means quad while E means dual.

It isn't worth the money because you can get an E8500 or a Q9550 for a quarter of the price and almost the same performance. Even greater performance if you're planning to overclock.

Oh I see. Thanks for that. I plan to build up a CPU that is for gaming purposes and I'm curios what specs would most suitable for that.
