Smartshader 3.0 isn't about better image quality, it gives better performance whereas the image quality gets un-noticably worse

With the current technology, the performance is little when comparing to AGP.

The next generation of video cards are going to be released in the early 2005 (ex.: R520). That's the time to get into PCI-E.
