Opinions for 1 TB hd's

my seagate drive failed after 9 months, seagate RMA'd it with a repaired one that blew up 1 month later. So I want to stick to western digital I believe, this drive has good reviews..

That's what I would suggest too. The green drives have a lot of hype right now, but suffer with performance because they lower RPM's to gain power efficiency. If you want more performance go with the Caviar.

Samsung's F1 series hard drives are another good option.

^i have a samsung F1 1Tb Drive, it is quite fast. I would go with it personally.

Both my Seagates and my WD TB have been running 24/7 for well over a year and I'm happy with both. Just flash the fw if you buy a Seagate before using it and that's it.

if you want to go wd which is what i would suggest then get black edition.

+1 on the WD Black 1TB. Good price and great performance. I've heard nothin but trouble about the Green HDD's from WD as well as from Seagate. I'm not sure what's up with Seagate lately. I've used them mutliple times in the past and have never had a problem, but it seems like recently with the 7200.11's people are having problems, especially on the egg.

I can recommend the Samsung F1, its not the fastest but to be frank that has no impact on games. It is however very quiet and very cool running, and thats a real bonus.
So in summary I would go WD for performance (which is pointless IMO), and Samsung for quiet and cool.

^my f1 1tb is fairly fast, faster then my 500gb seagate 7200.11 anyway.
