I would be grateful if somebody could help me here....

I have an old Advent 7062 Laptop, Model No. MID2030, Notebook PC (8599), Serial No. PNB410011316.

The PC is running XP Media Centre Edition 2002 with SP3 installed.

All updates have been installed from the MS Website.

Whever the laptop is switched off and rebooted from being 'off', the sound doesn't work, and the sound driver shows as a yellow explanation mark in Device Manager. To get it working, i have to either disable and enable, or restart the machine, and when it restarts it works fist time...

I cannot understand the reason why the sound driver isn't switched on when booting from being 'off', but when its restarted it boots up with the sound driver working???

I have reformatted the hard drive, and reinstalled windows, i've also reinstalled all the drivers from here:-

The laptop only works off of the charger as the battery is knackered, would this effect it? The battery on the motherboard must be working as its keeping the time...
