Hello there,
I am interested in building a new desktop pc, I have build an older system about 4 years ago. With that said, I'm a little rusty with todays hardware compatibility. This is going to be a low end gaming PC. I am looking into the AMD Athlon 64 x2 processor with a 2 MB lvl 3 cache: Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core black edition Processor - Processors - Desktops

Im looking at this motherboard: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards.

The conflict I am having is that the FBS on the Motherboard is 2600mhz/5200 MT/s(whatever that means, I wish I knew), and the "Hyper Transport" on the processor is 3600mhz.

Q1: Does this mean that my motherboard and processor are not compatible?
Q2: If it is compatible, will the processor downclock itself?
Q3: If I got a processor with a 2000mhz FSB, will my motherboard downclock? Link to that processor: Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400 Brisbane 2.8GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core black edition Processor - Processors - Desktops
Q4: When it says 512Kb x 2 for the l2 cache, is that 512 Kilobytes/core or 512 Kb divided by 2 with really 256kb /core? (Logic tells me it is 512Kb/core)

I thank anyone who can help me with this.

1. It will work
2. No it won't
3. Nope.. but I wouldn't get that CPU over the Kuma
4. 512KB per core
