My main question is, if he wanted to sli later, is that psu good enough to add a second card? I've kinda hit his budget though, so there's not much more I can do about it. Edit: nvm, he can't sli on that board lol. Maybe I should give him a weaker and less expensive psu. I guess I could swap out the gpu for a 4890 also since his monitor is only 1680x1050. He probably won't crossfire though, so idk.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Get this PSU to save a few bucks if you're getting a lower video card. He'd be fine with a 4870, but a 4890 will be decently cheaper than a 285.

You can use the same PSU you have there, but I make it a rule to never count on MIRs, lol. It's up to you.

Everything else looks great. Though you don't need to get the Vapor-X card, you could get this HIS for a lot less.

It's only 10 bucks less with the HIS. i'd say go with the saphire. Fairly nice OC and cooling.

I would consider the gtx 260 myself since i prefer the nvidia drivers and if your friend want lower noise the 4870 can sometimes have a problem with temps where you need to turn the fan up. But this is any easy fix and most people dont care about a bit of noise.
