DUal booting XP on a Vista Dell Laptop

So my laptop came with Vista, and a Gig of Ram, ran like crap, after some work I got it dual booting XP and Vista with Vista installed first (thanks to easybcd)..... Boots fine... but, it randomly shuts down, I mean completely off, no warning, in Windows XP.

It's a Dell 1521 laptop.... What's going on??

Do you have all the proper drivers? Have you checked for over heating?

Have msot of the drivers, but usually before I can install/download, it shuts right down.

it doesn't do this in Vista.
