I just got a new HP laptop...2.3 GHz Intel Core2 Duo processors, 4 GB ram, 1 GB Vram nvidia 9800 GTS video card, and also running Windows Vista

Ok the problem i am having is when i play video games (WoW, CS, etc) my fps idles around 60 and then when there are a lot of graphics being thrown around it drops to ~10.

I tried fiddling with the settings and no matter what i put them at the same problem keeps occurring...i also tried messing with the resolution to no avail.

Any thoughts would be helpful

yes i do thats the weird thing...usually updating drivers fixes the issue

tried reinstalling the drivers, but im not noticing any difference

Give that a shot.

Also, open up windows Defender, click Tools, click Software Explorer. Look and see what all is starting up with Vista and disable what you don't need or use. You could also use MSCONFIG for this.

downloaded the program and started running it, but im still having the same problem unfortunately...good fps until my screen gets flooded with a lot of graphics at once. i appreciate all the help btw
