Sony - BRAVIA 1000W 5.1-Channel Home Theater System - HT-SS2300
something like that isn't bad. $410 and you get a decent 5.1 setup. Hook everything up to the receiver and then hook it up to the TV.
Another option would be something like this and I think it would give you better quality sounds, but not the 5.1 sound.
Receiver: Yamaha - 500W 5.1-Ch. A/V Home Theater Receiver - RX-V365 $230
Speakers: Sony - 8" 3-Way Floorstanding Speakers (Pair) - SSF5000 $160

I would suggest looking into the nVidia Ion Atom-based platform. There is a very good analysis of the new Zotac microITX Ion mobo. The version with an Atom 330 (dual core) looks very promising, and it has an nVidia integrated GPU, not that Intel poo, which will decode HD without a hitch (the tests in the article centered on using the platform for HTPCs mostly). It is cheap, virtually silent, very small and convnient and inexpensive. DVI, VGA and HDMI come as standard. Check it out:

well, i have an old sk939 board laying around, im going to see if that works enough before i buy anyhting
