Hello,

Just was cleaning my computer and removed the fan assembly from the processor. Should I go and get some thermal paste to connect these two again? Recommendations?

Thank you.

AS5 is like the Alienware or Bose of thermal pastes, people assume it's good because it is expensive when in fact there are other pastes that are both cheaper and better like TX-2.

Thanks guys, AS5 was actually the cheapest on newegg and also had free shipping. Do you think it really makes that much of a difference b/w TX2? I'm not overclocking or anything, just a regular CPU.

Also, how do I get off/clean the exst thermal paste?

Thank you.

AS5 used to be really great in the grand scheme of thermal pastes...but nowadays, it's a bit outclassed. Though it's apparently better for extreme overclocking like DICE or LN2.

TX-2 is your best bet mate.

EDIT: Well, if you aren't overclocking and it's the cheapest, you should be ok then.

Thanks, just need something to connect the CPU to heatsink. Everything I am seeing saying the size of application should be 1/2 size of a BB...I have a circular heatsink.
