need urgent help please

You do not have another cable to connect from the router to your computer?

when it is plugged in from a command prompt type:
ipconfig /all
repost what it says here specifically ip address and default gateway.

i have cable and i tried connecting the pc directly to the modem.

and no i do not have any extra cables, actually i might have a few short ones in the attic, and i do have a non wireless router, but i need the wireless router for my laptop, wii, psp, and ps3.

ip routing enabled - no (thats my problem i think, not sure how to fix it)
wins proxy enabled - no

i should of took my dads belgin(i think thats the brand, maby belkin or something) wireless router when i went up there to get the case, he offered it to me(brand new in the box) but i turned it town. it was wireless N (which i dont think is compatible with my wireless g card, but that doesnt matter since i cant get the wireless g card to work) but it also had 4 extra ethernet ports on it (whereas this linksy one has only one ethernet port which is used for connecting to the modem)

apparently not lol, im going to copy the disk the mobo came with over to the flashdrive real quick and see if that works.

Go to the manufactures website and get the latest.

1st install chipset drivers
2nd install lan drivers

Then take her online and get windows updates.

install gpu drivers.
install all other drivers in no particular order.

Exactly. That is how it should always be done. Get another pc and a flash drive and get those drivers.

i am now talking to you from my new PC =D i just need to finish dling the rest of drivers, then i need to figure out how to get this thing hooked up wirelessly(if my wife sees that i moved the router and unplugged the tv in the living room she isnt going to be happy), and then last but not least, go up to the attic and find another keyboard so dont have to use this old school beast lol.

you rock man, i really do appreciate all the time you spent helping me with my problems.

ugg cant access the asus website from here for some reason. maby once my updates are done i will be able to, its probably just a small java issue or something or maby a graphics issue, either way no biggie
