Computer just turned off. keyboard and monitor dont work anymore?

Hi all, I have a dilemma for you all. I was playing a game ( Fallout 3 ) and all of a sudden my computer just turns off. I try to turn it back on but it wont stay on. When I pressed the power button the fans came on for a brief moment then shut off. This happened a few more times and finally the computer came back to life. But now the monitor is not getting a signal from the comp and also the keyboard does not work. everything has been plugged in and I have not even touched the case for months so I don't know what is up. I upgraded this thing in 2005 so maybe its time for a new setup? Let me know if my computer can be saved or if I should start over. Thanks dudes!

Mobo- BFG TechForce 4 Ultra 939 NVIDIA nforce 4 ultra ATX AMD
Processor - AMD athlon 64 3200 + MMX 3D Now 2.0 ghz
Mem: 1 GB
Graphics card : GeForce 8600 GTS
HD- 250 GB capacity

Sounds like a heat issue. If it shut down and wouldnt turn back on till it cooled off. I would blow out the dust from the case, make sure that the Video Card doesnt look damaged and make sure there is no burned spots on the mobo.
