Contemplating a build

Hey guys, I think I might be making a new build pretty soon and would like some ideas. This old Athlon 64 X2 4200+ and 7600Gt aren't as bad *** as they used to be I would like to keep the budget around +/- $1000. I already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Basically the only thing I would prefer would be an Intel build. Anything else is up to you. Thanks!

Sounds like enough for an i7 build seeing you already have a monitor.

Yep i7 may be the ticket. Are you going to reuse your case as well?

If you go i7 you will want to run vista home premium 64bit or the win7 64bit beta.

Just use the windows 7 rc for an OS. It is awesome and perfectly stable, not to mention FREE for a year. I am using it right now and have been for almost a week now and I love it.

With the HDD, you might be pushing your budget a bit but trust me it is well worth it. That is an awesome build right there.

If you could reuse your old case you could save $150 getting the total build to just above $1k.

And yes it would be worth it.

If you went for a gtx260 vs the 275 then you would be under $1k

You may also be able to save a bit more by only getting 3GB or ram, although that is a nice deal.

i7 is well, well worth it.

Definitely go for 6gb of RAM. It is not that more expensive.

Yeah, if you need to cut corners, you could always get a cheaper case. That case is pretty sweet though.
