PC reboot

My friend bought a new vid card fx5700OC since we have install the card, the computer restart when you start a game some time when you browse the internet
Computer setup :
ALienware Area 51
Intel E850EMV2
P4 2.8
512 meg ram RIMM
HDD WD 80 8 meg ata 100
soundblaster Audigy
intel network card
DVD player
Yamaha Burner

here what I have try :
- Format and re-install win XP all update done and SP2
- Try newest driver on Nvidia
- Try beta driver from 3dchipset
- updated Bios
- Try another HDD
- Try the card in another PC and work fine

After all those test still shuting down and work fine with his old Ti4200 from Asus

any Idea???

I know what you mean, I've got an (FX?)5600 and in certain parts of games it will die and suddenly reboot. Nvidia has some problems, I'm not sure what the fix is.

I have problem with Warcraft 3, when you get the menu the computer restart, but working fine with the Ti 4200

check your log files for the errors your system is getting. this might help you figure it out. If windows is rebooting its probably set to reboot on error (default setting) instead of showing you the errors on the screen.
also another helpful tool to diagnose issues with video games or video in general is dxdiag. this will tell you just about everything you want to know about the multimedia of your system.
