Would it be ok using the newer 1.8v memory in my older system that supports 3.3v, would it affect the performance of the memory much if i can, the memory bus is also a lot lower speed in the new memory, i know this will lower the performance already

a P4VMM2 mb and memory is Kingston 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory Non-ecc CL5 Unbuffered 1.8V

Nope that board uses ddr ram you are out of luck trying to use ddr2 in it.
It also uses sdr as well but get ddr.

Best you could do would be 2 1gb sticks of ddr pc3200.

never noticed that would this memory be ok then
DDR 400MHz/PC3200 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL3 Lifetime Warranty 2.6v
