Go with the 320gb seagates, it's the same cost.

I would save your money for an SSD though. Up to you.

Thing about raid 0 is the chance of losing all your data, if one drives goes, you lose all your data, this is why here at TF we generally recommend you either backup alot or get raid 0+1 which has more disk mirroring the raid 0 and is therefore more expensive. Generally as long s you backup often you will be fine but you better of going with a 640gb black as there isn't really that much differnce and you will see alto more gain from a ssd like hikari said.

Ok, this is probably the 5th time i've posted a build but oh well, I don't know if SSD's would really be worth it, so I think I will just go with these.

I want to use this system through my 4 years at college, and would like to use it as a media center + Video Editor and 3D Animator. I will probably do some light gaming on it as well. If there is a place that you see where I can CUT Costs, Please do say so

Was wondering how good this monitor is? I don't really understand things like HD and stuff like that. If I get a TV Tuner can I watch TV on this monitor?

Total $1142

Maybe I can get a cheaper case and a better monitor or something like that? Any Suggestions?

I think that when I get more money, like a in a year or 6 months, I will grab another HD to store data on with the RAID. I guess I don't really know how long it takes HD's to fail, but the one in my ibook has been going for 3 years strong.

Don't take this offensively, but it doesn't sound like you're an extreme overclocker or anything like that, so you could save some money by sticking with the stock heatsink. If in the future you want to OC then you could always grab one later.

Ok cool. Honestly I didn't really know what the heat sink was for, other than to cool CPU, or why I would need one, but someone at another forum said that the i7 runs quote "Hot as balls" and I should get one. I wasn't planning on overclocking, so knowing that I don't need a heatsink will save me some money. Thanks
