Hey guys haven't been on the net for a long time. But I need your help.

For no reason at all my disc drive just stopped working. It looks like it's jammed or something because when I press the button it doesn't open and I can't eject it so I have no idea what to do about it.
I have used it a lot to burn movies maybe that is the reason why it is broken?

Here are the specs on my drive.
DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) with Labelflashâ„¢ drive supporting
11 formats
o Maximum speed and compatibility: CD-ROM (24x), CD-R (24x),
CD-RW (16x), DVD-ROM (8x), DVD-R (Single Layer, (8x)),
DVD-R (Double Layer, (6x)), DVD-RW (6x), DVD+R (Single
Layer, (8x)), DVD+R (Double Layer, (6x)), DVD+RW (8x), DVD-
RAM (5x)

Will I have to buy a new one?

Hello,

First, open up your computer case and check to make sure that the power connector is properly connected to the drive. Post back.

That happens with a lot of old drives. Something about the magnet used to pull up the disk tray not letting go properly when the drive tries to eject.
You'll know that's happening because when you push the eject button you'll hear the cd tray open very slightly (sounds like a 'Tck', pretty loud).

It is possible to fix, however it involves taking the drive apart.
If you just want to get the disk out press the button then tap the drive firmly on the top, near the front of the drive.

RMA it if you can. Otherwise just use it until you're tired of smacking it on the top, then get a new one. :)
