A 4870X2 for $399 is great. Beats out the GTX 285, aslong as you're gaming at high resolutions, like 1920x1080. The only card that beats out the 4870X2 is the GTX 295, which costs considerably more.

I'm only gaming at 1440x900 lol. What would be the best card out for $370 (considering MIR's)?

At that low of a resolution a $370 video card won't do you much good since you're more CPU bound at that lof of a res. But if you want it incase you go up to a larger monitor, I'll go back to what I said earlier and get a GTX 285 or go with what Hefe said, a 4890 and save some cash. Heck, a $100 ATI 4770 would work for you.
