My sister wants a screaming fast computer, but doesn't want to spend over $1000.... She will need everything. The tower, monitor, speakers, and keyboard/mouse.
I really think it is possible to get her an i7 build that is in her price range...
She will be doing normal computer tasks, but I want her to have a computer that last a long time. The 9800gtx+ is so she can play the Sims 3 with no lag... That is why she wants the computer, but I think it will be good for her to have an i7 computer because if she can get it, why not...

This is what I have came up with....

The problem is that she has her budget and she is sticking with it. I really want her to have an I7 without losing the gpu... I only need to shave about $30 the I7 build....

Get a 4850, better than a 9800gtx+ and cheaper. Or if you're fixated on nvidia, go with a gts 250, slightly better than a 9800gtx+, and also cheaper.

How about the HD 4770 or HD 4830 instead?

The latter being slightly slower.. the HD 4770 has proven to be a worthy contender against the GTS 250 and HD 4850, trailing in performance only slightly by a short amount 3-7%, yet being 10% cheaper

Or get 3GB of RAM instead of 6

Hmm looking at your stuff.. definately look for combo deals and mail in rebates...

and I have been told you really "don't need 6GB" of RAM, for gaming and such, so you could drop to the 3GB package and save some money there, depending on what is planned to do on this computer....
