ok i have finally saved up enough money to buy an upgrade to my computer and i wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on the hardware that im about to get.. im upgrading from a p4, 2gb ram, 7600gt.. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. thanks...

mostly going to be used for school and gaming of coarse..

Wouldn't get a quad if you were mostly thinking about gaming. You would do just as well getting an E8400, it will OC much more, and quads aren't fully utilized for games.

Totally agree with Hikari, and if you do save by going with the E8400 you could upgrade the GTX 260 to a Radeon 4890 for $50.
