DDR2 800 or 1066 vs anything under DDR3 1333 is considered faster. DDR3 1600 and up is faster then DDR2 speeds. If you are talking about terms in gaming with DDR2 vs DDR3 high end speeds like 1066 and 1600, DDR3 u will gain 2-4 fps more in gaming.
well it also depends on the timings of the DDR3. cause at about 1333MHz with 7-7-7-20 then that would be as fast if not faster than DDR2 at 5-5-5-18. DDR3 also has better overclocking potential.

oo 7-7-7-20? Hmm yes i believe u are right. 8 timings is bland to me, and right now i cant find DDR3 1333 anymore on newegg. Look at the prices of DDR3 1600 drop for both 7 and 8 timings RAM! I might actually upgrade to AM3 perhaps sooner then i thought, but right now im DDR2.
If you want fast DDR3 it needs to have a low CAS. Something like Cas 7 1800mhz. I'd probably recommend some Super Talent Micron D9GTR or D9JNL from ewiz.com
