Hi, I recently searched for a tech forums and this came up. Nice site if I must say so.
Anyways, I play PC games and I'm looking to build a PC. I spent awhile looking for parts, but I'm not sure if these parts are actually compatible with each other. Seeing as you guys are experts on this matter I trust you will know if this will work.

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Motherboard: XFX MB-N780-ISH9 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI Intel Motherboard

Video Card: 2x EVGA 512-P3-N884-TR GeForce 9800 GTX+ Superclocked 512MB 256-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Power Supply: OCZ StealthXStream OCZ700SXS 700W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

RAM: CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

Hard Drive: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive - OEM

Monitor: ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 20000:1) Built in Speakers

CD/DVD Drive: ASUS Black 18X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model DVD-E818A3T BULK - OEM

I have a feeling I chose a wrong part or left a part out. Any suggestions would be appreciated :freak:

Whats your budget? This isn't bad for not knowing what you're doing but there are definitely some improvements that could be made.

If you can tell me how much you want to spend on everything, I can give you a better system build.

Pretty good setup. I would swap out two of these (Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-1155-TR GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards) for the 9800 GTX+. Same basic card and speed, but with 1GB memory each for an extra $5 each.

I am guessing you are going to use Vista 64-bit as your OS?

I never came across the ones you suggested but I will definitely switch to those. And to Trotter, I haven't really decided a budget yet, but maybe a $1500-$1600 budget. Thanks for fast reply guys! :) Oh and yes I will be using 64 Bit Home Premium

With that budget I can build you a system that will blow that one away. Give me a few minutes and I will post up a parts list for you

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

Newegg.com - EVGA 896-P3-1170-AR GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders - Operating Systems

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 2433BW High Glossy Black 24" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 20000:1(1000:1) - LCD Monitors

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe - CD / DVD Burners

Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

That puts you at about $1512 without a case. There are also $95 worth of MIRs. I included an OS but if you already have one that would drop the total by another $100

like pinscher said get an i7 and a x58 setup instead of an old 780i and a e8400, it will be way faster. and 9800gtx+ i would just get a gtx 275 or even a gtx 285 better than sli'ed 9800gtx+
