i need something to equivalent to a GeForce 6600-8800 or better... roughly how much would something like that cost on newegg.ca ?

About $110 CAD for a 4830 which is better than a 9800GT/8800GT and then the 4850 is the next step up at around $140 CAD.

You could also go for something cheaper if need be, such as an HD 4670 or 4650, both of which would be better than a 6600.

But not a 8800...

Just spend the extra 30 CAD or so and get a card you can at least rely on.

A card that you can rely on to play games at a decent setting. Not that its not reliable in the sense that its just going to stop working after 2 days.
