Ok, I currently have a 320GB SATA Hard Drive.

I was planning on re-formatting, but I have too many important misc. files to back up, I don't think I could find them all.

So, I have a New GPU, CPU, RAM and Power Supply. I was going to install them today, but I wanted to have a clean Hard Drive free of any crap, so when I start the PC up, its as close to new as I can make it.

I was going to run this:

Scan Disk
Defrag
Full AntiVirus Scan (Free AVG)

I dont want to mess too much with Registry Cleaners. Last time I did, I messed up some up some stuff on PC (lost E-mails ,etc)

Is there a FailSafe Registry cleaner out there?

Let me know what else I need to do!

Thanks guys

just a fyi: unless your replacing your mobo there is really no reason to reformat. The only thing your gonna have to do with the upgrade your doing is replace your video card drivers... everything else is gonna have to be changed through ur mobo.

Why don't you back your stuff up? Formatting gets rid of everything, including the stuff the cleaners can't.
