I would consider that pwned. The i7 is your best bet for video work.

Nice build, at very affordable price. If you are serious about your editing then this would be a great build. Also note that an i7 build will last you alot longer then any 775 rig will, you wont see much mroe of them anymore especially when i5 is out.

BTW.... I found the I7 920 for $229 locally, but you can see if you have a microcenter near you.

Microcenter has great cpu deals. If there is one in your area I highly recommend that you get your chip from there.

Would an overclocked core 2 duo (4ghz) and 8gb of mem cut it? Would it be close or should we stick with Quad Cores or better?

both AMD quad @ 2.8 GHz and Intel quad @ 3GHz beats dual core @ 4.6 Ghz

stick with Quads for video editing
