Are you reversing the hd?

Seen a neat mod where they went out the side to the back, with the cables looping into the cage.

that's not a bad idea, drilling those holes out for the sata cables. but if you dont have any HDD to put in there why dont you just take the HHD cage out and leave the fans in?

That my friend is the plan....but again, just trying to keep future projects in mind, dont' want have to take this thing all apart and start drilling again later. Would prefer to get it all done the one time its on the workbench.

How'd you do that? I've seen a few, but no real how to.

I'll put some detailed pics up of this one as I do it, essentially:

Cut a hole in the side of the drive bay and case to feed the SATA data and power cables through and connect them to the drive mounted rear facing, to make things easier use 90 degree cable connects to ensure they fit between the fan.

I'll post some pics as I do it so you have a visual.

How'd you do that? I've seen a few, but no real how to.

Its pretty simple. You just install the hard drives backwards. Mine are that way. Just plug them in forst, so you odnt spend 10 minutes trying to plug them in with two fingers.

I've heard they stick out far if you use the stock mounts.

They do stick out a bit, but unless you are using a huge video card it isn't a big deal. It helps a lot with wire management. You also have to be careful on the 900 and 1200. You could easily hit the front fans with the cables.
