I'm having problems with my microphone. I've checked every setting there is (I'm pretty sure) and I've turned all of them up. When I try to record any voice clips, I can hear myself only if I scream VERY loudly into the mic, and even then it's lower than a whisper. I have a Turtle Beach EAR FORCE X1 headset and I'm using XP. If you have anything that could help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

How long have you been using it? Does it require drivers installed for it?

I've only had it for maybe a month. I've had this problem before with a Barracuda headset. I don't think there are any drivers, but I'll check.

EDIT: I've checked, and there doesn't seem to be any drivers.

Also, they were working before today. Today they just seemed to screw up on me.

Also, make sure the mic is completely plugged in. If it is not completely plugged in, it could be sending a weak signal to the sound card. This may sound silly, but you would be surprised how many times... Oh never mind. Good luck.

Have you tried removing the sound card from Device manager, then booting back up and letting Windows autodetect the card and install appropriate drivers? If not, I'd highly suggest that be the next step. Good luck.
