Thanks. I was looking for that page.
I will book mark that for future reference.

Looks like I am going to have to flash the BIOS on this MoBo.
Becoz I got the new CPU in, but there is no post at this stage.

Hmmmm..... Problem.....

I have downloaded the BIOS from
Asus's Download Site.

With the existing P-IV 2.4 @ 533, it will boot.
However, when i install the P-IV 3.0Ghz 800 Prescott, it will still not POST.

BIOS Version I am currently using is 14617.

Any URLs where I can get the older BIOS ver 1016.

Need help on this one guys.

Thanks for the link xxkrnxstylezxx.

PROBLEM. I have downloaded and installed the older BIOS (ver. 1016). It still will not post or give any display with Prescott CPU.

[EDIT] I have checked out if there is an issue with the PSU. The power supply in the box is a Thermaltake 420Watt PSU. HOWEVER, this machine is under a lot of load.
2x Samsung 160GB Hard Drive (RAID)
1x Samsung 160GB Hard Drive (Not Raided)
2x 9Gb IBM 10 000 RAID (RAID)
7x Case Cases
1x DVD Drive
1x DVD -/+/RAM Drive
1x FDD
4x 512Mb Ram @ PC400 (2Gb)
GF4 MX440 64Mb

I have stripped this machine down to basics and I am still having problems getting a display.[/EDIT]

I was suggested by a client that i should :-
- Clear the CMOS via the jumpers
- Leave the BIOS Battery out for a 30 minutes.

Did both, and they both did not work.

From an authorised Intel Distributor.

The CPU works. I put it on a test bed.

thats strange all the info tells me it should work with no probs
You say it wont even boot into bios?Sense you no the CPU works
the only thing i can think of is the Board wont support it even though it should. There may be a problem in the board itself.
