Television help

I know this is a bit off topic, but this is called the "tech" forums, so I'll give it a shot.

I've got an older TV, a 1999 Sony Trinitron KV-32FS10, which recently stopped working. When I press the power button I can hear the usual noise that comes, but there is absolutely no picture, I don't even hear anything working in the back and it is not producing any heat. I get sound just fine, but no picture. Is this possible to fix? I would prefer not to bring it to a repair shop as the TV itself isn't worth that much and it is a PAIN to lug around, I would just hope there is some part I could buy and install myself.

If its a tube TV..its not really worth fixing. Will cost a lot for parts, plus its not really safe to open up a tube TV unless you know what you're doing.

Nope, tried that before. That little cathlode or whatever when it goes off, you best be 100ft from the TV.

Probably the electron gun in the back has died way too dangerous, way too expensive to bother with and it will be a bugger to calibrate properly.
