some advice for a new computer builder?

Thats fine, I just figured out that there are two different kinds of latency and the kind of latency DDR3 memory produces has nothing to do with the latency that my ISP provides for me. I was just confused as to why anyone would pick DDR3 memory for gaming if it produced more latency.

Ok here is your build:

CPU:
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Mobo:
Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD4P LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

Memory:
Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Video Card:
Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-1281-AR GeForce GTX 285 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Hard drive:
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

SSD:
Newegg.com - OCZ Apex Series OCZSSD2-1APX60G 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Solid State Disks

PSU:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies

Case:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases

Cooling:
Newegg.com - Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler W/TX-2 - CPU Fans & Heatsinks
with
Newegg.com - Sunbeam CR-LGA1366 LGA 1366 Core I7 Retention Bracket - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Optical Drive:
Newegg.com - LG Black 22X (CAV) DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X (CAV) DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners

Monitor:
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 2233SW High Glossy Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 15000:1(1000:1) w/ HDCP Support - LCD Monitors

That comes to about $1840. I don't know if you actually bought the monitor yet, the one I listed is a lot better but if you have then you can subtract about $200 form the total.

Also for music and such I recommend these:
Newegg.com - SENNHEISER DJs HD202 3.5mm/ 6.3mm Connector Circumaural Dynamic Hi-Fi Stereo Headphone
They are good entry headphones. They beat the **** out of skull candies, Bose and the apple ear buds and they are cheap too.

I went a tad conservative on the build for several reasons. 1: if you do get that monitor it may be wise to either upgrade the video card or get two. Look at the ATI Radeon 4870X2 or the Geforce gtx295 if you want more punch. And 2: I also left room for water cooling components if you want to go that route, however if you do then i suggest you talk to Aspire.

But i still need a good Monitor that is 20-in and in HD 1080p or 1080i

by the way im 16 and love computers. My mom wont let me buy all of there parts offline so it has to come in one or two packages. like the computer and then Monitor

+1 to this build. just build it your self. that prebuilt looks like a piece of crap compared to this one. it's alot funner to build it your self.

that cyber power looks really bad. they give you crappy choices on the mobo and you cant select what brand PSU you get, also they dont tell you what brand of GPU you are getting.

Actually you can, although i had to go up to 1kw to get a corsair psu. The gigabyte is decent but there are better choices and the memory information is limited.

ya, it's not worth it. it's best to buy from newegg that way you know what you are getting. instead of a "4850 from a Major Brand"
