I'm looking to build a low end amd gaming pc and built one entirely on newegg
can you guys chip in on opinions and what I can do to make it cheaper while gaining performance thanks!
I plan on overclocking also

-AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400 Brisbane 2.8GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core black edition/ $57.99

-GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-US2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI mobo/ $79.99

-HIS Hightech H467QT512P Radeon HD 4670 IceQ Turbo 512MB 128-bit GDDR3/ $79.99

-LIAN LI Lancool PC-K7B case/ $79.99

-COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RS550-PCARE3-US 550W/ $54.99

-G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800/ $29.99

-Seagate ST3640323AS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA/ $69.99

-SAMSUNG 2043SWX 20" 5ms LCD Monitor/ $154.99

with generic keyboard, mouse, dvd drive, and a xigmatek cooler
the total came up to $663.89. also will I be able to run cod4/5 on medium settings?

thanks again!

OK, can do. I went with a SFF style case... a choice of three, actually. you won't be able to use the Xigmatek with it (obviously), but you will get much better performance for less money, depending on the case.

Newegg.com - Acer X203Wbd Black 20" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2500:1 ACM - LCD Monitors

That's a sub-total of $543 w/free shipping on the CPU, GFX card, PSU, hard drive, and monitor. There is also a $15 MIR on the GFX card and a $10 MIR on the PSU.

Now the cases...
Newegg.com - SILVERSTONE SUGO SG02-BF Black ABS / SECC Steel MicroATX Desktop Computer Case - Computer Cases
Cheapest at $59, with a total of $602.

Comes in at $82, for a total of $625.

$90, for a total of $633

I run COD4 on fairly high settings and I am only using a 3850. The 4830 would chew it up.

If you don't want that style case,
69.99 free shipping and a $20 mir to make it 49.99
Newegg.com - NZXT Alpha Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Open Window - Computer Cases

I have this case, and do like it
64.99 free shipping, comes with 3 120mm fans
Newegg.com - Rosewill Conqueror WSL Triple 120mm Fans Steel ATX Mid tower Computer Case with Side Panel - Computer Cases

59.99 free shipping, 3 120mm fans. Actually comes with a 450 psu with 40 amps on 2 12v rails. For you're comp it'd probably be fine. But better to be safe than sorry, toss the psu, keep the case, and use a new psu that you purchase separately.

thanks for the help everyone! I made a final build with some tweaks and plan on ordering it soon!

-AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core black edition/ $64.99

-LIAN LI Lancool PC-K7B case/ $79.99

-COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RS550-PCARE3-US 550W/ $54.99

-G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 900(PC2 7200)/ $47.99

-Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA/ $59.99

-SAMSUNG 2043SWX 20" 5ms LCD Monitor/ $154.99

all in all it came to $644.90

I downgraded the gpu because trotter can run cod on med/high settings which is all I need for a while because cod4/5, diablo 1-3, and css/tf2 is all I'm going to play for a while.

I also took the hdd from 640gb to 500gb because I won't need that much.

My plan for this computer is to game on it and use it for general use for about 3-4 years and then start a new one from scratch using a higher end processor from AMD

thanks again!

Why start a new one from scratch, when you can just keep upgrading parts? If you get this quality stuff, you can just slowly upgrade on necessity.
