Build is in my sig. I have 4x1gb sticks of the ballistix tracers, which can put off some heat and are fairly close to each other in my case. I have been getting random blue screens every now and then, at random, which pointed me to the memory. Ran memtest, and instantly got errors. Felt the ram, and it was very very hot. So I let them cool down for a bit, ran memtest again, and no errors.

So apparently, my memory is overheating. Never had this issue when I was running 2x1gb, simply because they had more breathing room I suppose. I need to cool it off and need some ideas! (besides cleaning out the dust, i'll get to it, ahem..) Here are some pics to give a better idea of the situation. Beware, high-res.

Overall Layout..

Airflow is from front to back. The 140mm front fan is near the bottom, so it isn't quite making a straight line for airflow from front to back. Think that matters much?

Here is what I have on there..

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler
1 x 120mm rear fan
1 x 140mm front fan
1 x 230mm side panel fan

Also, I need some temp. monitoring software that isn't too chunky. Mabye a tray icon w/alerts?

Thanks guys.

I did have a few 2x2gb kits, but they all died off from the heat, have one stick left, and a 60cfm 120mm fan sitting right above it to **** dissipate heat.

This is what I use. It can hold 3 fans and you can swing them any way you'd like. Perfect to cool NB,Mem, Extra cpu cooling, and gpu
