GPUZ says i have 216 shaders but newegg says otherwise. Who to believe?

Sounds like they gave you a core 216 version instead. I would trust GPU-Z over the egg, it just reports what hardware the card has. So you got a better card for free, dont complain to them ;)
 
Look for a manufacturers product number on it and check that way...if it has to be registered usually they have an automated detect based on the serial number you enter. That should also id it for you as a confirmation to gpuz.
 
yea those kinda mess ups happen all the time. like when the gtx 260 n gtx 280s first came out...they was shipping 280's as the 260's...
 
I think he meant that people who ordered the 260 were getting the 280 instead. Unless I totally misunderstood what you said..


kids that don't know what they are talking about would freak out because they wouldn't realize it's the better card :p i think that's what he meant
